Frequently Asked Questions

Admission & Getting Started

Do I need to have my cosmetology license to learn IBE®?

You must be a licensed cosmetologist in your state to enroll or almost done with your cosmetology school program. You may enroll in the course but will not be certified until you are officially licensed.

Do I need to have extension experience to apply?

Absolutely not! Some of our best stylists have been those who’ve never picked up a needle and thread before.

Can I apply while I am still in cosmetology school or working as an apprentice to become licensed?

Yes, you may enroll in the course and work with your mentor, but you will not be certified until proof of licensure.

Do you offer group and salon discounts on certification?

Yes! We offer a 10% discount to groups of 4 to 7 stylists and a 20% off discount to groups of 8 or more stylists wanting to become certified in IBE®. Groups of 8+ will have the option, upon completion of the course, to come as a group to IBE® Headquarters in St. George, UT for a private 1-day Beyond Certification training. Reach out to support@invisiblebeadextensions.com for more information.

Can I apply if I don’t speak English?

Our training videos are all in English so you do need to understand to get the most of your training. However, if you are comfortable speaking a different language, you can work with a translator app and your mentor to make sure you feel confident with the method. We are always working to provide other languages to our program! Spanish education is on the way!

When will I hear back about my application?

Our current waitlist is 7-10 days. After that someone from our Admissions team will contact you via text message.

How long does the course take to complete?

We want you to set a goal to complete within 8 weeks. But within those time frames, it’s really up to you and the time you set aside to work on your certification. Some finish in as little as a week! As long as your communication with your mentor is constant, you have as much time as you need to complete your training.
Please note: If 8 weeks goes by without communication with your mentor, your access to the videos will be revoked and you will need to reach out to your mentor to reinstate your enrollment. If 6 months pass without any active communication, there will be a re-enrollment fee of $1000 to begin the program again.

Can I do in-person training?

Yes! Once you complete IBE® certification, you can attend in-person classes at the IBE® Education Center in St. George, UT. Now included with your education is Beyond Certification, a 1-day class available to all IBE® Certified stylists within 1 year of completion.

If you don’t enroll within 1 year and still want to attend this class you will be charged a class enrollment fee of $1300.

Visit IN-PERSON CLASSES on the IBE® website for more information.

I just enrolled! When will I receive my starter kit?

We ship starter kits within 24 hours upon enrollment. You will typically receive your kit within 3-5 business days.

What comes in the starter kit?

The starter kit will come with everything you need to get started with the exception of a mannequin head. A triple set of custom-fabricated pliers, bead removal tools, 3 colors of custom beads, thread, clips, practice wefts, and everything else you need to work through your certification.

The IBE® Method Difference

What’s the difference between IBE® and other “invisible” methods?

IBE® was created with the health of the client’s scalp and hair at the top of our list. We create a unique track that focuses on flexibility and equal weight distribution. Our track is durable and is easily maintained due to the continuous track. We believe that minimal points of contact equal maximum points of damage. Unlike other traditional beaded weft methods, with IBE® there is no contact of a bead with the scalp at any time. Because of that, as well as our focus on proper tension, IBE® is a much more comfortable extension experience for guests.

With IBE®, our focus is on the precision of stitching and beadwork which allows for a longer time in between move ups.

How is an IBE® flip up different then others?

Invisible Bead Extensions® is known as the “Original Flip Up” for good reason. It is the first Patented extension method to show a bead-less flip up. We were the first to truly research and develop a method which put the safety of the clients hair and scalp first. We were the first to be transparent with our grow out, showing the world what our guest’s extensions look like at 6, 10, 16, and 26 weeks! Nothing to hide here!

Many methods have tried to copy the IBE® flip up but we are confident that what is taught here remains the best. Our attention to detail is unmatched. Our emphasis on proper tension and placement is not found in any other extension training system. Our authenticity will never be in question, for we know that we created this to solve the problems with other methods and training systems, not to just copy a photo.

How is your training program unique?

We don’t believe our method can be taught or learned in a day.  For this reason, we created our education videos for you to watch as many times as you’d like from anywhere in the world. We start off on the right track by pairing you with a private IBE® mentor who will be there to help you every step of the way. From start to finish, you’ll get all the support you need.

Store Orders & Shipping

Who do I talk to about an IBE® Store return?

Please read the Refund & Returns Policy

Can I return hair?

For all unopened hair, we can accept returns initiated within two weeks from the date the order was delivered. Due to federal regulations, once any ties have been cut, removed, or altered from any original bundling of hair, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges. For returns please read the Refund & Returns Policy and then visit our Return/Exchange Center to submit your request.

What happens when my package doesn’t arrive on time?

Packages do get lost sometimes. Please allow 7-10 business days for a lost package to arrive. If your package hasn’t arrived within 7-10 business days, we will gladly ship a new order or refund. You can also notify support@invisiblebeadextensions.com and we will help you track or replace the order.

What does shipping protection provide?

When you check out of the IBE® store you have the option to purchase shipping protection. If you purchase shipping protection and your package doesn’t arrive on time your shipping protection will provide IBE® to ship you a new order or refund you.

Should I ship to my salon or home address?

We recommend shipping to your home address. We’ve noticed items not arriving on time, getting lost or stolen delivered to the salon address. Please note; some mailing companies do not deliver on weekends to businesses.

General Questions

Is IBE® the same as hand tied extensions?

Hand-tied extensions is the TYPE of weft used; IBE® is the method.

Can I do IBE® with flat wefts or machine tied wefts?

IBE® was created specifically for the use of hand-tied and micro wefts. Every single measurement, stitch, and placement is done with only the use of hand-tied wefts. If another type of weft is used, we cannot guarantee the full IBE® experience will be met.

How often do I need to get my extensions reinstalled?

We recommend your first follow-up appointment at 7 weeks. At that time, your stylist will evaluate your grow-out and determine if you can go longer in between appointments. On average, one has their rows reinstalled between 8-10 weeks.

How long does the hair last?

Quality hand-tied and micro weft hair will last on average 6-12 months. With proper styling care and the proper use of professional hair products, you can easily get one year out of your hair. The hair we have in our IBE® online store is the highest quality hair on the market and we can only vouch for that. There are many types of hair on the market with different origins, so make sure you’ve researched the company if you look outside our store.

How much does IBE® cost to get installed?

IBE® is not a one price fits all. Pricing is different for everyone and is dependent on many factors. Contact your certified stylist of choice from our locator and they will set up a consultation appointment to go over everything with you.

I had an IBE® install and it looks nothing like your pictures, what should I do?

First, verify that your stylist is indeed on our locator. Second, if you’re unhappy with your install we recommend contacting your stylist and let them try to make it right. If you do not wish to see them again, find another stylist on our locator. We provide the same in depth education to all of our stylists. Unfortunately some choose to further their education and practice… others do not and this is out of our control.

What products do you recommend using on my extensions?

We recommend using Goldie Locks®. These products focus on enhancing the experience you can have with your hair, from the inside out. Not only does this product line encompass internal well-being and balance, but provides added support to those transformative results by offering an entire line of luxury hair care. Find more info on Goldie Locks® at https://goldielocks.com/

What if I have a problem with my IBE® stylist.

Unfortunately we have no control over our stylists and how they run their business. If you are unhappy with your stylist first contact them and see if they can make it right with you. If they cannot, find another stylist on our locator.

Is there a number to call to speak with someone regarding questions/problems?

We do not have a landline. Any questions/problems can be answered through our customer service at support@invisiblebeadextensions.com.

What is the refund policy for IBE® Education?

There are no refunds for IBE® Certification. Once the first payment has been made and you’ve been given access into the education, no refunds will be issued.

IBE® Hair

I’m having a problem with my hair extensions purchased from the IBE® store! What can I do?

Please reach out to the IBE® stylist that installed your hair extensions. He or she can then reach out directly to us by emailing support@invisiblebeadextensions.com. *We will not respond to questions from clients.

How do I take good care of my hair?

We recommend brushing your hair 3-4 times a day and then braiding it before you go to bed. It’s also best to sleep on a silk pillowcase or use a silk bonnet. Make sure to always use professional products,  we recommend GoldieLocks as it is formulated for extensions first. Extensions require ultra hydrating products.  Stay away from anything reparative, as this usually means protein is present which is not recommended for use on hair extensions.  Also stay away from Keratin products as well as Olaplex.

Will the wefts match your hair color?

Proper consultation is so important for color match so be sure to go to an IBE® stylist who has an appropriate color ring.

Are they long lasting?

Hand tied hair extensions typically last between 9-12 months, depending on how you care for them. It is very important to use professional hair products on hand tied extensions and follow all maintenance instructions from your stylist.

Does the curl pattern relax with your wefts?

No, our curly hair does not relax. So make sure the texture match is correct upon consultation.

Can I razor cut this hair?

We never recommend razor cutting curly hair. You can however razor cut our straight hair.

What is your return policy?

Please refer to our return policy here: https://shop.invisiblebeadextensions.com/policies/refund-policy

Who should I contact for restock information?

We notify stylists of restock information through our Instagram, email, text and IBE® Stylists App. If you are a BOOST member you will get restock information 24 hrs prior to everyone else. You can also use the ‘Notify Me’ button on the item information page.
